A quartet may be beyond my budget. Can I have a trio or duo for less?

Yes! A smaller combination is possible to meet your budget.

Whether you choose the intimacy of a string duo, the sparkle of a trio or the grandeur of a quartet, you will love the warm golden sounds of Scarlet Strings.

Will the quartet travel?

Yes! We do many weddings and events all around Ireland. Obviously there will be travel costs involved. Contact us for a quote.

Is there going to be music before the ceremony?

Yes! The quartet will play while the guests enter the church and wait for the ceremony. This creates an atmosphere of warmth and ease. We usually arrive half an hour before the ceremony begins.

Can you accompany my friend to sing a few songs?

Yes! We will accompany any singer, soloist or anyone else you have in mind. We rehearse on the day of the ceremony.

I have a special song I would like you to play. Can you do this?

Yes! We will arrange any music you want if we do not have it in our repertoire. A small fee may be required, depending on how much time is needed to write an arrangement.

What are the performance requirements for the quartet?

We need four armless chairs and room to swing our bows.

Will you play outside?

Yes! We can play outside, weather permitting. The instruments are very delicate and cannot withstand direct sunlight or moisture.
